Main aur Mrs. Khanna: litmus test for Prem Soni

First time director Prem Soni has a tough job at hand- he is directing stars like Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Govinda, Priety Zinta and Sohail Khan in his debut film Main aur Mrs. Khanna. Soni has also written the script of the film which is being produced by Sohail Khan Productions and UTV Spotboy. 

There is an interesting anecdote to Main aur Mrs. Khanna. Working with Star India, Prem Soni landed at Salman Khan's doorsteps one fine morning, with a desire to make a film with him. Salman asked him just one question, whether he had a script ready? Soni responded in affirmative and Salman gave him 10 minutes to narrate the story. Those ten minutes did the trick for Soni and he got the film. 

Salman plays the lead male protagonist in the film while hot babe Kareena sizzles as lead actress. Salman's close buddy Govinda also plays an important role in the film. Soni even managed to rope in Priety Zinta to play a cameo in the film, thanks to his chemistry with the dimpled-girl.  

Film is scheduled to hit the theatres by the year-end. Its a kind of litmus test for Prem Soni. Laced with a heavy dose of comedy, Main aur Mrs. Khanna could well make or mar his directorial dreams. If the film does well at the box office, it could open the floodgates for Soni while an unfavourable response would leave him empty-handed. Salman has the credit of giving chance to many a young directors in his career, but most of them left without making a big impression. The big question is what will happen to Prem Soni- whether he is able to hold his own alongside a gamut of big stars or not, may well decide his fate.
